Overview
NotiTracker (the Android personal finance app) lets you control your stored data directly in the app. You can:
- Delete some of your data while keeping your sign-in account, or
- Delete your entire account and all associated cloud data by selecting every deletion category.
Both options use the same in-app flow (Settings → Delete my data). This page describes the steps, what is removed or kept, and how long data may remain before permanent deletion.

Delete some of your data (keep your account)
Use this when you want to remove specific categories of app data from our servers without deleting your Google sign-in account.
Steps
- Open NotiTracker on your Android device and sign in.
- Go to Settings (from the app menu).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my data.
-
Select one or more data categories below — do
not select all if you want to keep your account:
- Transactions, accounts & categories — all financial records stored in the cloud
- Settings — preferences such as layout, cloud sync, notification capture, Google Sheets connection, and getting-started progress
- Learnt patterns & suggestions — description autocomplete history and notification-learned patterns
- Tap Continue.
- Review the summary and tap Delete my data to confirm.
You must be connected to the internet. You will stay signed in and can continue using the app after scheduling.
What is deleted
After a 90-day retention period, the cloud copies of the categories you selected are permanently removed from Firebase (Google Cloud):
| Category you select | Cloud data permanently deleted after 90 days |
|---|---|
| Transactions, accounts & categories | All transactions, categories, and accounts in your Firestore account |
| Settings | Your stored preferences and settings blob |
| Learnt patterns & suggestions | Description suggestions and notification pattern index |
What is kept
- Your Google / Firebase Authentication sign-in identity — you can still sign in to NotiTracker.
- Data in categories you did not select (for example, settings if you only deleted transactions).
- Data on your device until you sign out or uninstall the app — scheduling deletion does not immediately wipe local copies for partial requests.
- Rows already written to your Google Sheet — NotiTracker does not modify or delete spreadsheet data. Remove rows yourself in Google Sheets if needed.
If you delete Transactions, accounts & categories without deleting your whole account, default starter categories and accounts are recreated in the cloud when the purge runs.
Delete your entire account
To permanently delete your NotiTracker account and all associated cloud data, you must select every deletion category (or tap Select all) in the same in-app flow.
Steps
- Open NotiTracker on your Android device and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete my data at the bottom.
- Tap Select all (or check all three categories: transactions/accounts/categories, settings, and learnt patterns & suggestions).
- Tap Continue.
- Review the summary and tap Delete my data. You will be signed out immediately.
Settings shows an “Account scheduled for deletion” notice if you sign in again before the purge completes.
What is deleted
When every category is selected, the following is permanently removed:
- All cloud data listed in the table above (transactions, categories, accounts, settings, description suggestions, and notification patterns)
- Your Firestore user document (
users/{your user id}) - Your Firebase Authentication / Google sign-in identity for NotiTracker — deleted when the backend purge runs after the retention period
Local data on your device is cleared when you are signed out after confirming a full deletion request.
What is kept
- Data in your Google Sheet (if you connected one) — NotiTracker never deletes spreadsheet rows on your behalf.
- Your Google account itself — only the NotiTracker app identity and app data are removed.
Retention period
When you confirm a deletion request, it is scheduled rather than erased instantly from our servers. Cloud copies of the data you selected are retained for up to 90 days, then permanently deleted by an automated backend process.
During those 90 days, your data generally remains on your device (unless you chose full account deletion and were signed out). If you sign back in before the purge, your cloud data is still available until the scheduled deletion runs.
