Privacy and safety

Is there an expense tracker that works without linking my bank?

Yes. NotiTracker never asks for your online banking username, password or PIN and does not connect to your bank account. It reads the payment notifications your banking apps already show on your phone.

How does NotiTracker read my bank notifications? Is it safe?

Android lets you give an app notification access. NotiTracker uses it to read notification content only from the apps you add to Allowed apps. The amount, direction and merchant are detected on your phone, and the raw notification text is never uploaded to our servers. You can remove an app or turn capture off at any time in Settings.

Does NotiTracker read my SMS?

No. It does not access your SMS, call logs, contacts or precise location.

Where is my data stored?

With cloud sync on (the default), the expenses you save are stored in your account on Google Firebase and sync across your devices. Turn cloud sync off in Settings and your transactions stay on your device. If you connect Google Sheets, rows are written to your own sheet.

Do you sell my data or show ads?

No. We do not sell your personal data, and the app has no ads.

How do I delete my data?

Go to Settings > Delete my data in the app. Cloud copies are permanently deleted within 90 days.

Google Sheets

How do I get my spending into Google Sheets without typing it?

Connect NotiTracker to a Google Sheet. When a bank notification arrives, NotiTracker fills in the expense, you save it with one tap, and it is written as a new row with the date, amount, description, category and account. Our free template is ready for it.

Do I have to use Google Sheets?

No. Sheets sync is optional. NotiTracker works on its own, with charts and your full history in the app.

Can I use my own sheet instead of the template?

Yes. You can connect an existing tab. When the app initializes that tab, any data already in it is replaced and converted to the NotiTracker template layout. Use an empty or new tab, or make a copy of your sheet first, so you do not lose existing data.

Using the app

Does it save expenses without me?

No. NotiTracker fills in the expense from the notification and you confirm it with one tap, so nothing is saved without you seeing it first.

Which banking and payment apps does it work with?

Any app you add to Allowed apps. MB WAY, Revolut, Trading 212, ActivoBank, Google Wallet, Caixadirecta (CGD) and Bankinter Portugal have extra-tuned rules that we update live. Other apps use the general parser, so check your first few captures.

Can it track Google Pay or UPI payments?

If the payment app shows a notification with the amount, you can add it to Allowed apps and the general parser will try to read it. Google Wallet has tuned rules. UPI apps have not been tested yet, so check the first few captures and tell us at support@notitracker.com if one is read wrong.

What about cash payments?

Add them in seconds from the Quick Settings tile, from any screen.

Can I make my own categories?

Yes. You can create your own categories, accounts, colors and currencies, and record transfers between accounts in one step.

Does it learn how I label things?

Yes. With capture on, it learns the description, account and category for each merchant it captures. Without capture, it still remembers past combinations for you to reuse.

Why do I keep quitting budgeting apps?

For many people it is the typing. Logging every coffee by hand is easy to skip, and after a few skipped days the numbers stop being useful. NotiTracker starts from the notification your bank already sends, so logging an expense is one tap instead of a form.

Can I import my old bank statements?

Yes. Import CSV, TSV, XLS or XLSX statements, and export your history whenever you like.

Is it free?

Yes. NotiTracker is free and has no ads.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not yet. NotiTracker is Android only.

Who is NotiTracker for?

People aged 16 and over who want a simple way to track personal spending, especially if they already like keeping a budget in Google Sheets.

Who makes NotiTracker?

NotiTracker is built by the NotiTracker team and published on Google Play as Eclipse Studio PT.
